Boldface Dec. 24: A.D. Amorosi rounds up the local gossip

There’s marriage in the Christmastime air. First, Fox29’s Mike Jerrick gets engaged, as we reported last week. Now, Jason Cichonski, one-time “Top Chef” contestant and owner of Ela and The Gaslight, is off the market: He proposed to his girlfriend of two years, Tara Kulesza, late Saturday night. “Christmas is a time when the whole family is together and we could see everyone we love,” says Cichonski. “It just felt right to make it official now.” The chef flew Tara Kulesza to her recently engaged best friend’s house in South Carolina under the pretense of getting ready for maid-of-honor duties. Cichonski made everything look as if all preparations were in honor of Tara Kulesza’s best friend’s big day before he flew to Charleston and surprised Tara with an engagement ring purchased at Jay Roberts in Cherry Hill.

Speaking of engaged couples, chef Luke Palladino and fianceéKristine Kurilko opened Palladino’s on East Passyunk last week with a grand cocktail party. How committed is the chef to his new location? “He bought his shoes at A Man’s Image,” right down the street, says Kurilko.

Philadelphia director/producer Tommy Avallone and wrestler Mick Foley’s “I am Santa Claus,” a documentary examining the lives of various St. Nicks around the country, just dropped it onto Netflix Instant in time for Christmas.

The 102-year-old Snockey’s Oyster & Crab House at Second and Washington went up for sale late last week. It’s listed at $1.35 million.

Eagle Mark Sanchez and a female friend were spotted dining at Vernick the day after he lent a hand to Todd Herremans’ charity event for the Leprechaun Sports Association at Dick’S Sporting Goods.

Doylestown-born Sports Illustrated swimsuit model/GUESS jeans model Samantha Hoopes and her family dined at High Street on Market before attending Philadelphia Style mag’s Christmas party at the Down Town Club on Chestnut Street. Hoopes is on the cover of this month’s Style.
