There are so many fun and #FabULyss ways to see New York as a family. Here are my picks for the best spots where your kids can have fun and pick up on New York’s rich culture.
Sail through history
Have you heard about Manhattan By Sail? You can experience sailing at sunset around NYC with the family. You will love seeing Ellis Island, the Freedom Tower, Statue of Liberty and much more while sailing around Manhattan. It gave us a chance to talk about Manhattan history. Parents can enjoy a cocktail or two as well.
Park and ride
My boys love visiting Victorian Gardens at Wollman Rink during the summer! They cannot get enough of the rides and games. Conveniently located in Central Park, this is one stop that you will want to take your kids to before the summer is over. I recommend buying the unlimited day pass so that your children can go on as many rides as they want. My friends always know when I am there because my Twitter feed gets filled with lots of happy faces.
If you are in Coney Island, don’t forget to check out the famous Coney Island Cyclone and of course Luna Park – lots of fun rides for all ages. You can take a walk on the famous boardwalk before and or after and of course stop by Nathan’s for a famous hot dog. There’s something to do for everyone in the family. The New York Aquarium is also a great stop if you are visiting that area.
Art for everyone
I love the Whitney Family Programs. The “Jeff Koons: A Retrospective” show is a must for NYC families. This family-friendly exhibition features a giant sculputure of a balloon dog, a larger-than-life sculpture of Play-Doh and much more! Make sure to bring a camera, the art is just incredible and very colorful.
Did you know “gelato” is simply the Italian word for ice cream? One of my favorite gelato stores to visit during the summer with my family is Grom. We love a DeLysscious treat on these hot summer days.
