1 dead, 2 injured in Sumner Tunnel crash

A crash in the Sumner Tunnel early Friday morning left one man dead and two others with injuries, according to Massachusetts State Police.

The crash involved one vehicle only, a 2002 Dodge Ram pickup, that went out of control just after 3 a.m. near the I-93 north ramp.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by state police and detectives.

Of the two surviving victims, one man was transferred to Tufts Medical Center and the other man to Mass. General.

The tunnel was initially closed but has reopened.
