A 5-year-old boy was killed in a car crash in Grafton on Sunday, according to the Worcester County district attorney's office.

Officials say the young boy, who has not yet been identified, was hit by a car at about 3:52 p.m near his home on Samuel Drive.

The driver has not been identified by the DA's office.

The death appears to be the result of a "tragic accident," DA Joseph D. Early Jr. said in a statement. 

State police detectives assigned to the Worcester County DA's office along with the Grafton police are investigating the incident.
