Allston's Gypsy Rose Dancing owner Wendy Readon has more than 1,000 costumes in her arsenal and wanted to put them to use. So she's opening up the doors to her studio for what she's calling "The Selfies Studio."
"I started it last year when one of my students was a photographer and I started going from costume to costume, I thought it could be really fun for anybody," she says.
The concept is fairly simple: It costs $35. She has the costumes and the set, you bring yourself and your camera phone. No time limit. Snap snap snap.
Readon says she currently has around 20 different shoot sets, ranging from a Hollywood red carpet to a Victorian gothic party, but the creme de la creme is probably the giant marabou-rimmed martini glass you can climb into, pictured above.
The concept may parlay fantasy, but doesn't necessarily have to get frisky. However, Readon says the reasoning for a "Selfie"-driven operation is so you take the photos on your phone, and leave with the photos on your phone.
She says, "You don't have to worry about fees, or them winding up all over the Internet."
So, you know, you do you.
