A former Revere resident was arraigned on Tuesday for four counts of child rape and is being held on$100,000 bail.

The original indictment took place in 2006. At that time, Clerk Magistrate Anne Kaczmarek imposed bail of $100,000 and ordered Vasquez to stay away and have no contact with the victim and her family, have no contact with children under age 16, surrender his passport and be subject to GPS monitoring.

Rony Vasquez, 42, was deported to Guatemala in October 2006 – before his Suffolk Superior Court arraignment – and was never tried for the alleged repeated sexual assault of an 11-year-old girl. A warrant for his arrest was put in place.

A decade later,U.S. Marshals arrested Vasquez on Sunday after learning that the fugitive would be landing in Houston,Texas. The D.A. said Vasquez returned to the U.S. because hehad plans to visit a relative.

Vasquez is due back in court on Sept. 7.
