Police in Colorado are searching for an accused Southbridge child rapist who is wanted in a slew of assault charges since going on the run in September.

WCVB-TV reports that Gregory Lewis is now accused of sexual assault, kidnapping and aggravated robbery in the Denver area, where he is believed to be in hiding.

Lewis may be in possession of a gun, baton and handcuffs, according to the report. Lewis is wanted by Massachusetts State Police on charges of home invasion, kidnapping, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and rape of a child. He was originally arrested on those charges on Aug. 5 in Southbridge.

State police said Lewis has been a fugitive since cutting off his court-ordered GPS ankle bracelet on Spet. 15 and fleeing the state. He is believed to have returned home on Sept. 25 when he allegedly attacked his step father and stole cash, a handgun and over 200 rounds of ammunition.

Denver police said the crimes committed in that city happened in early to mid-October. Lewis is also facing charges out of North Carolina relate to the case of a kidnapping, robbery and assault on Sept. 23.

Mass. state police said Lewis has made suicidal, homicidal and “suicide by cop” threats and should be considered armed and dangerous.
