Matt Burke

Matt Burke is the sports editor and a columnist at Metro Boston. Prior to Metro, Burke was the sports editor at the Gloucester (Mass.) Daily Times, where he was nominated for several New England Newspaper & Press Association awards, including top sports column. His work has also appeared for CBS Sports, the Newburyport (Mass.) Daily News, the Eagle Tribune (Mass.), the North County Times (Calif.), Sports Illustrated on Campus and WHDH.com (Mass.). Burke received a B.A. in Journalism from UConn, where he covered two national championship basketball teams and two NCAA Final Fours (men in 2004, women in 2003). Burke was born and raised in Massachusetts, attending Pentucket High School. He also lived in San Diego for just over two years but missed being miserable in New England weather from November to March each year.
