Authorities are investigating two deaths that could be the result of a murder-suicide in Framingham.

Framingham firefighters responded to a well-being check Wednesday afternoon at an apartment building located at 154 Second St. where they discovered an adult man and an adult woman, both deceased. Police have not issued any official statement regarding the cause of death and the matter is still being investigated by police and the Middlesex District Attorney’s office. The identities of the deceased have yet to be released.

A spokesman for Framingham Police declined to verify or deny multiple media reports, including those from MetroWest Daily News and WCVB, that suggest the two deaths were a result of a murder-suicide.

“It’s still under investigation,” he told Metro.

A call into the Middlesex DA’s office was not immediately returned Thursday.
