Brunch can’t get any better — right? Well, surprise! It can. The monthly makers and munchies market is returning to La Brasa on March 5 with more than 15 artisans and indie vendors sales their wares — like Haitian hot sauce from The Craic and Blonde and unique seasoning blends from all over the world by Curio Spice Co. — curated by local gift box purveyors, Boston & Bale, taking over the East Somerville space. The kitchen will also be slinging a special brunch menu featuring moyetes (think: bean-y Mexican bruschetta) and chicken wings with mole. This time around, Ipswich’s Privateer Rum sponsors and will be serving samples and cocktails from behind the bar.

Chef Michael Scelfo is consulting the hip hop charts for a rap-inspired brunch on March 6 at Alden & Harlow in Harvard Square. On the menu: N.W.A. Nutella waffles, Rollin’ in my 64 beef tongue chilaquiles and a hemp seed crepe “blunt” called Fantastic Voyage. DJ Ryan Brown will also be on hand to spin the day’s soundtrack. Cocktails, like a classed up Gin and Juice(with grapefruit and honey) and Ambitionz Az a Ridah, featuring Strawberry-Banana Colt 45, will also be served.

Nurse your hangover with some live opera this Sunday in The Burren’s back room in Davis. Opera on Tap, a non-profit that fosters live performances by students of opera, will present Puccini and Pancakes for their last show of the season. The show titled “Missed Connections and other Anti-Valentines Day Songs” (slightly late, but we’ll take it) and will feature live opera inspired by the Craigslist missed connections section.
