Yuengling & Son, which makes -- you guessed it -- Yuengling, knocked Boston Beer off the top spot, according to a new ranking based on last year’s beer sales volume released by the association this week. Boston Beer is now No. 2, according to that ranking, followed by Sierra Nevada Brewing.
CNBC reports a rule change allowed Yuengling to assume the top post. Previously, according to that outlet, the company was not considered to be a craft brewer by the association -- a nonprofit trade organization -- because of its use of ingredients such as corn and rice in their beer.
