The National Weather Service says that winter has finally decided to show up in the Northeast.

They have issued a winter weather advisory from Monday night into Tuesday afternoon, predicting a nasty mix of rain, sleet and snow totaling between 1 and 3 inches. This might make for a tough morning commute on Tuesday if the roads have not been treated. Slick roads and slippery climbs are to be expected.

The snow is not expected to stick around as the temperatures rise, but winter seems to be headed towards southern and eastern Massachusetts. Snow is expected to start around midnight and will shift to freezing rain around daybreak.
