Boston Police conducted one of their 50 annual active shooter training drills with the School and SWAT Units in Brighton on Thursday in a simulated scenario similar to the shooting at Brigham and Women's Hospital in January when a man shot and killed a beloved doctor.

The exercises focus on a shooter in schools, hospitals, and large office buildings.

"Our job is to always be ready for something serious," Officer Rachael McGuire said. "We regularly train in case something terrible like a shooter or hostage situation occurs."
