Boston Police have confirmed they have recovered a car that was stolen with a three-year-old boy inside it Sunday in East Boston.
Police say a silver Acura was taken from a parking spot near a Bank of America ATM located close to the corner of Bennington and Porter streets in Eastie around 9:40 a.m. Sunday.
The driver of the car was using the ATM, while the boy was left in the car.
The alleged thief — 50-year-old Ronald Smoot — dropped the child off at a Mobil station on Meridian Street shortly after he stole the car.
The car was recovered on Putnam Street this morning, according to Boston Police, just 8 a.m.
Smoot was arraigned on Monday and held on $25,000 bail.
