A local group is collecting donations for victims after a fire in Lynn on Friday that killed four, injured two and displaced 18.

Lynn Youth Street Outreach Advocacy, an area nonprofit, launched an online fundraiser on GoFundMe Monday afternoon with a big goal: to raise $50,000.

“Unfortunately, this tragedy could not have come at a worse time with the holidays around the corner.Any amount donated will mean the world,” the group wrote on its fundraiser page, which by late Monday afternoon had collected nearly $800 in six hours from 18backers.

The three-alarm fire hit a three-story home at 24 Bruce Place Dec. 4, according to multiple reports. WCVB reported Monday that investigators had yet to identify a cause and that the victims included a pregnant woman named Sonia Cruz and three of her relatives.

Funds support victims by helping pay for burial services and medical bills, as well as “resources to help those who lost their home get back on their feet,” according to the GoFundMe page.
