Daytime Dorchester shooting leaves one dead, another injured

Police are investigating a shooting on a Dorchester street that killed one man and left a woman hospitalized.

Around noon on Hancock Street, a man was pronounced dead from injuries sustained in a daytime shooting that also injured a woman, the Boston Globe reported. She has been transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Authorities said to WCVB that the woman was shot in the leg and her condition was not known.

Police were on the scene to investigate the shooting, the Boston Globe added.

The victims’ identities have not been released, according to WCVB, which added that officers were seen searching under nearby parked cars. It was not known if they have a suspect in connection to the incident.
