An incident at Taunton State Hospital injured four people over the weekend.

Details regarding the “disturbance” were scarce but police say a hospital staff member called 911 around 5:30 p.m. Sunday, saying a fourth floor unit may have been “compromised” and that the staff was considering locking down the rest of the units in the building.

Three staff members and one resident of the hospital, which is run by the state’s Department of Youth Services (DYS), were taken to Morton Hospital and treated for minor, non-life threatening injuries.

DYS staff are investigating the nature and cause of the disturbance, according to Taunton Police. No further details were available.
