UPDATE: Alec Baldwin links his run-in with photog to Trayvon Martin shooting

Baldwin brought up the Trayvon Martin shooting in a series of fiery tweets Tuesday afternoon.

UPDATE: Alec Baldwin has been furiously tweeting away in the hours following his physical altercation with a Daily News photographer.

In one tweet, Baldwin referenced the shooting of Trayvon Martin in
Florida, saying, “I suppose if the offending paparazzi was wearing a
hoodie and I shot him, it would all blow over…”

Martin was wearing a hoodie the night he was shot by neighborhood
watchman George Zimmerman, who was later arrested and charged with
murder.

Some followers threw their support behind Baldwin, while others were offended by the remark and fired off rebuttals.

“Yanno, being a decent person isnt a bad thing. I pity you and your hate-filled heart,” one person tweeted.

“Do you have a horrible writer or are you this incredibly absurd and wrong all on your own?” another follower asked.

Baldwin has asserted that it was the photographer who assaulted him and also called the photographer’s trip to the hospital a “scam.”

That photographer, Marcus Santos, told the Daily News he filed an assault complaint with police against Baldwin.

Metro’s original story is below.

Do not mess with Alec Baldwin on his way out of the Marriage License Bureau.

It was a lesson a Daily News cameraman learned the hard way this morning, when found himself on the receiving end of a Baldwin-style beat down.

A few photographers gathered outside the bureau this morning to snap Baldwin as he left the building after obtaining a marriage license for his upcoming nuptials to 28-year-old yoga instructor Hilaria Thomas.

Baldwin, 54, claimed on Twitter that the photographers got in his face, but other shutterbugs at the scene say they were at a distance when Baldwin had a sudden, violent outburst, first grabbing Daily News photographer Jefferson Siegel before decking his colleague, photographer Marcus Santos, right in the kisser.

“I said, ‘Don’t touch him,’”Santos said in the Daily News account of the incident. “I knew he was going to attack me. I stepped back, and he kept coming.”

The photos show a furious Baldwin, who also got into physical altercations with photogs in 1995 and 2010, lunging toward Santos with determination. The “30 Rock” star, though, insisted it was Santos who was the aggressor.

“A ‘photographer’ almost hit me in the face with his camera this morning. #allpaparazzishouldbewaterboarded,” Baldwin tweeted.
