Katie Holmes reportedly had some high-profile sounding boards as she planned her exit from her marriage to Tom Cruise — including Cruise’s second ex-wife, Nicole Kidman, according to Us Weekly. “They’ve spoken over the last few weeks,” a source says. “Nicole has been supportive, saying she’s been through it too and to hang in there. Nicole offered her support and help.” The two first became acquainted when Holmes married Cruise in 2006. “She has been a private friend not many people know about,” the source explains. So how did Holmes reach out to Kidman on the sly? The L.A. Times reports that Holmes used a disposable cell phone provided by a friend to plot her divorce filing without Cruise’s camp catching wise.
Adele announced she was pregnant late last month, with new rumors following that she’s also engaged to the baby’s father, Simon Konecki. Well, now sources tell Heatworld.com that the British singer is actually much farther along in her pregnancy than previously thought — and is due in September. “Adele has barely left the house in recent months, so she could keep this to herself for as long as possible,” the source says. “She stopped exercising a few months ago, and since then it’s been all about the baby.” The source adds that the advanced pregnancy is the reason Adele opted to not fly to the U.S. in May for the Billboard Music Awards, despite winning a dozen trophies that night.
With production wrapped on her Elizabeth Taylor biopic for the Lifetime cable network, Lindsay Lohan is looking to keep her work streak going. Now, she’s reportedly in talks with producer Bob Weinstein about joining the cast of next year’s “Scary Movie 5,” according to the New York Post. It’s not clear how big of a role Lohan would have in the horror film spoof, which would be the first installment in the series not to feature star Anna Faris.
Looks like Sofia Vergara is officially off the market. While celebrating her 40th birthday with friends and family Mexico, the “Modern Family” star reportedly received a special gift from fiancé Nick Loeb when he popped the question during a hike through the Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza, according to Hollyscoop. The big moment happened in front of all 90 of Vergara’s birthday guests, including co-stars Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Julie Bowen. The news comes two months after a reported breakup between the pair that obviously didn’t last. This will be Vergara’s second marriage.
Jessica Biel doesn’t mind being the less fashion-conscious part of the couple compared to fiancé Justin Timberlake. “He is fearless in his choices and has a real eye for design. And I’ll be honest: He has better taste than I do,” she tells InStyle. “When I walk out of the closet after getting dressed in the morning, I’ll go like this [turns palms upward as if to say, 'Well?'] And he goes like this [shakes his head no]. After more than a year of being engaged, the wedding’s apparently off for “Harry Potter” co-stars Jamie Campbell Bower and Bonnie Wright, according to Us Weekly. “Bonnie and Jamie split a while ago,” a source says of the pair. “It was amicable, but things had not been going right for some time. It’s sad.” The pair first acknowledged their romance in February 2010, and he popped the question in April 2011. Bower seems to be moving on, though, as on Monday he was spotted in Toronto holding hands with his “the Mortal Instruments” co-star, Lily Collins.
