TV picks: Tuesday, Sept. 25

Dakota Johnson and Nat Faxon star as total opposite siblings on "Ben and Kate."

“Ben and Kate”
COMEDY. A single mom (Dakota Johnson) who’s unlucky in love and her aimless brother (Nat Faxon), who gets by on his charm, raise the former’s 5-year-old, with the help of the requisite goofy sitcom sidekicks rounding out the unconventional parenting party.
Series premiere, 8:30 p.m., Fox

“Vegas”
DRAMA. Dennis Quaid is all business as grizzled rancher-turned-sheriff Ralph Lamb — based on a real guy — who plans to bring law and order back to the desert once the mafia moves into 1960s Las Vegas to run the casinos. Michael Chiklis stars as his mobster nemesis.
Series premiere, 10 p.m., CBS

“Brickleberry”

COMEDY. Daniel Tosh’s unfiltered humored is translated into this animated series (the comedian serves as executive producer), which follows fumbling rangers attempting to bring tourism to Brickleberry National Park. How the jokes about AIDS and the Ku Klux Klan will help is anyone’s guess.
Series premiere, 10:30 p.m., Comedy Central

“Go On”
COMEDY. The NHL lockout be damned, hockey is back on TV — well, sort of. Former star Jeremy Roenick asks Ryan (Matthew Perry) to lace up his skates and join him on the ice for a game. Sure, it may be a pity invite on the pro’s part, but for hockey-starved viewers, we’ll take it.
9 p.m., NBC
