Actor Doug Hutchison and his controversial child bride Courtney Stodden have officially called it quits. The couple confirmed to the Daily Mail that after 2 1/2 years of marriage, they are getting divorced. But Doug will still remain part of Courtney’s professional life and work as her co-manager and in a bizarre move, the two will continue to live in the same house.

The 53-year-old actor and 19-year-old reality star made headlines when they got married when Stodden was just 16 years old. The couple acknolwedged that Stodden’s young age contributed to the end of the relationship. In a statement to the Daily Mail, the couple said, “As you know, Courtney was married at a young age. Now, at nineteen, she’s interested in exploring life as an unmarried single young adult — with the freedom to explore her independence.”

The couple added that they will share custody of their dog Dourtney and live in separate bedrooms. They said they “will continue being the best of friends for life.”

Rumors indicate that Stodden became dissatisfied with married life when she joined the cast of the reality show “Big Brother UK,” where she allegedly realized how much fun an independent life could be.
