Ellen has to decide whether Duncan should live or die in Monday’s new episode of “Hostages.”

‘How I Met Your Mother’
COMEDY. Leave it to “HIMYM” to find a way to make a flashback episode not entirely lame. “Breaking Bad” star Bryan Cranston returns to the show tonight as Ted’s overbearing boss.
8 p.m., CBS

‘The Voice’
REALITY. The top 12 vocalists perform in tonight’s new episode of “The Voice.” Out of the newly whittled down dozen, eight are guys and the girl power is sorely lacking. And with the sole female country singer sent home last week, it’s looking like pop will reign this season. But it all comes down to the performances.
8 p.m., NBC

‘Dancing With The Stars’
REALITY. The theme of tonight’s episode? Threesomes. Oh yes, that’s right. The five remaining couples will be converted into threesomes as they compete in their newest challenge: dancing as part of a trio. Expect to see some eliminated faces resurface.
8 p.m., NBC

‘Hostages’
DRAMA. Ellen has it tough this episode. She has to decide if she wants to save Duncan’s life, and that’s not the only Duncan decision she’s making. She also decides to confront his wife. Meanwhile, Vanessa, Colonel Blair and Creasy meet to discuss the President’s plan to expose the government’s surveillance program.
10 p.m., CBS
