Hit up Wave Hill’s 28 acre public garden and cultural center with its amazing views of the Hudson and Palisades. Its Glyndor Gallery is transformed into a space for 12 artists (Dana Levy, Jan Mun, Aron Louis Cohen and more) to create and host a series of workshops over the next few weeks.

Living Colour has been kicking it since 1983 — that’s 30 years of “Cult of Personality.” The mastermind behind the band, Vernon Reid, is a Brooklyn native who got his start in avant-funk bands and infused a lot of what he was doing then with hard rock and metal once he got Living Colour together. La Galette Des Rois translates to “the flat pastry cake of the Kings” and it’s eaten as a celebration of the Epiphany in France. Start the New Year right with this old story of selfless love. It’s the NYC premiere of Marc-Antoine Charpentier’s 1696 opera that retells the story of Orpheus, who enters Hades, after learning of Eurydice’s death, to convince Pluto to allow her to return to earth with him. Gotham Chamber Opera will partner with members of The Choir of Trinity Wall Street and Trinity Baroque Orchestra for these performances.
