TV Watch List: Thursday, January 2

Community - Season 5
Metro’s Thursday night TV breakdown.

COMEDY. The sixth season is shaping up to be very different, with Troy only appearing in five episodes (bummer, he’s the best) and Jeff having — finally— graduated. We’ll still watch, however, because “Community” is still one of the funniest sitcoms on TV.
Season Premiere, 8 p.m., NBC

‘Couples Therapy’
REALITY. This new season of a show about C and D list celebrities who apparently can’t make their careers OR their relationships work features one of its motliest casts to date. Among the couples who just can’t get it together are “Teen Mom” turned porn star Farrah Abraham, reality star turned paunchy nobody Jon Gosselin and Ghostface Killah. What is Ghostface Killah doing on this show?
Season Premiere, 9 p.m., VH1

‘The Assets’
DRAMA. This is a new eight-part miniseries about a team of CIA agents in the ‘80s trying to find a mole hiding within their midst. It doesn’t star anyone famous, but it does look pretty interesting, Spy stuff is always cool.
Series Premiere, 10 p.m., ABC

‘The Goonies’
MOVIE. This is indisputably the best adventure/comedy of all time. We’ll never miss an opportunity to hang with Chunk and the gang while they battle bad guys, search for treasure and explore boob-trapped, underground hideaways. GOONIES NEVER SAY DIE.
8: 30 p.m., ABCFAM
