Has the Bieber backlash begun in earnest?

Last night at the Billboard Music Awards, Justin Bieber won the fan-voted Milestone Award; but as he took the stage to accept it, the audience booed him, according to People.

The crowd may have just been punchy — it was the last award of the night. Perhaps they were sleepy and wanted their pajamas. Perhaps they did not approve of Justin’s oddly wet-looking outfit.

However, Justin was not amused by the crowd’s reaction. “I’m an artist, and I should be taken seriously. This other bull should not be spoken of,” said the teenager, who recently abandoned his monkey in Germany.

The night was quite the rollercoaster ride for artiste Bieber. In addition to taking home the Milestone Award, the singer also won Top Male Artist. He and Selena Gomez also seem to be tiptoeing toward a romantic reunion, but Selena’s buddy Taylor Swift doesn’t seem too moved by their rekindled love. When Justin and Selena kissed each other on the cheek last night, Taylor appeared to stick out her tongue in disgust, according to Just Jared.

What could an incurable romantic like Taylor have against such a sweet moment? Maybe she’s weirded out by the odd makeout head moves they’re doing, while still only making mouth-to-cheek contact. Maybe she’s an animal lover and doesn’t think that boys who abandon their monkeys in Germany deserve nice cheek kisses. Maybe she’s not looking at them at all, and her sequins are just too tight.
