The Word: Watch Disney’s new ‘Frozen’ snowman-torture teaser

Disney released a teaser short film to promote its upcoming animated film, “Frozen,” which is due out in November. “Frozen” is loosely based on the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale “The Snow Queen,” and stars Kristen Bell as Anna, who must find her sister, the Snow Queen, and break her frozen spell, according to Deadline. If it’s anything like this teaser, it will also be “Saw” for snowmen.

In the course of one little clip, we have dismemberment (a snowman sniffs a flower and sneezes his carrot-nose off, which his moose friend then attempts to eat) and decapitation (he sneezes again and his head explodes), not to mention apparent thoughts of suicide (why is a snowman so happy to see a flower growing? Doesn’t that mean spring is coming?)

Dark stuff, Disney.

Speaking of Kristen Bell, there’s been a slew of “Veronica Mars” casting news. The whole gang really is getting back together. Just days before the new “Veronica Mars” movie begins shooting, it’s been announced that another former cast member has signed on: Francis Capra will reprise his role as Weevil Navarro, the motorcycle tough guy with a heart of gold.

“I couldn’t be happier that he’ll be back with us for the film,” director Rob Thomas said in an email to the production’s Kickstarter backers.
