The Word: Rihanna’s off Chris Brown’s new album

Chris Brown’s new album, “X,” will be released on July 16th. One thing he already “X”ed out, though: his duet with Rihanna.

Brown and Rihanna recorded the duet, which I presume was called “Everything About This is a Terrible Idea,” when they were still together. But now that they’ve broken up, Brown no longer wants it on his album, according to Hollywood Life. “Record execs wanted that song on there, but Chris said he would rather not and wouldn’t allow the record to be released unless they took it off. They’re still hoping to convince Chris or pay him more to change his mind because it would be a hit. The record hasn’t been pressed yet, so things can change, but at this point he’s not changing his mind,” a source said.

Really? Record executive really think it’s a good idea to release a duet between those two? Seems like terrible PR to me. But what do I know. I’m awful at convincing the public to buy music from guys who hit their girlfriends.

It must be great to be a pop star with a sea of fans desperately reaching out to touch you. For a while, anyway. In this video, Rihanna seems pretty over it.

In footage shot by a fan at one of her concerts, the “Umbrella” singer strolls along the front row, touching hands with her fans, until one of them holds on for a second too long, impeding her progress back to the stage. Though she’s shadowed by a security guard, Rihanna takes matters into her own hands and pummels her way free with her microphone.
