James Gandolfini’s funeral was held Thursday morning at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in Manhattan. And tonight, the Great White Way will offer its own tribute to the fallen star: Broadway theaters will dim their marquees for one minute at 8 p.m.

“James Gandolfini was a consummate actor who brought individuality to each role and inspired a true connection with the audience. Whether on screen or on a Broadway stage, he made every role believable and seemingly effortless,” executive director of The Broadway League Charlotte St. Martin said in a statement. “Our thoughts go out to his family and friends, and certainly to all of his fans who felt as if they knew his characters.”

Gandolfini appeared in a number of plays on Broadway, including “The God of Carnage,” for which he earned a Tony nomination.

The sudden death of the iconic actor at 51 on Wednesday, who was on vacation with his family at the time, shocked Hollywood and his legions of fans.
