There is no war more devastating than when brother network takes up arms against brother network. That’s the terrible situation we find ourselves in now as Comedy Central star Stephen Colbert lashes out at MTV over their theft of Daft Punk.

Colbert booked Daft Punk on his show a month ago to perform what is arguably the song of the summer, “Get Lucky.” However, fellow Viacom channel MTV, which has booked the duo to appear on the upcoming Video Music Awards, threw its weight around and insisted on exclusive rights to a “Get Lucky” performance, forcing them to cancel their Colbert appearance.

Colbert retaliated with a five-minute segment in which he spoiled their VMA performance, read an email from MTV president Van Toffler without permission (and mocked it mercilessly) and urged viewers to watch the VMAs “Sept. 27 on VH1.”
