Do you hear the people sing? Singing the song of hungry men? It is the music of a people who will get cronuts at the exact same time as celebrities do, even if those celebrities are related to Julia Roberts.

Emma Roberts, star of “We’re the Millers,” turned up at the Dominique Ansel Bakery yesterday to try to score a cronut, the hot new hybrid of croissant and doughnut that’s making New Yorkers insane. After scoping out the long line, the actress and her publicist poked their heads into the bakery to see if Emma’s fame could buy her a Cronut Fast Pass. No dice. Roberts rejoined the end of the line, but gave up waiting after just a few minutes, according to the Daily Mail.

Luckily, when Emma appeared on Jimmy Kimmel later that day, he presented her with a cronut of her very own. Hey! How’d he get one on such short notice? So much for hearing the people sing.

This isn’t the only time Roberts has misbehaved recently. She was arrested in Canada on July 7 for domestic violence. She and her boyfriend, “American Horror Story” star Evan Peters, were staying in a Montreal hotel when a fellow guest heard them fighting and called the police. Because Peters had clear physical injuries, including a bloody nose, the actress was taken into custody.

However, Peters declined to press charges, so Roberts was released after a few hours, according to the Daily Mail.
