Rumors surfaced yesterday that Laura Prepon, who plays Piper’s ex-girlfriend and fellow inmate who snitched on her in “Orange is the New Black,” would not return for the second season. Not so fast, says Netflix.

Buzzfeed said yesterday that Prepon would make a few guest appearances to wrap up her storyline, but that she would no longer be a series regular. If so, it would be a huge left turn, plot-wise. The charged reunion between Prepon’s character Alex and Piper (Taylor Schilling) was a huge storyline in the first season, so it seems unlikely that they’d just toss it.

Netflix denies the rumors. ”It’s not accurate,” a Netflix representative told E! Online. “Our season is still developing and nothing is confirmed.”

Well, that sounds cagey. Maybe they’re negotiating to get Prepon back, but she wants to bolt? That seems like an easy problem to fix. The show’s set in a prison, after all. Just close the door and don’t let her out.
