The Word: Justin Timberlake not a fan of Miley Cyrus’ VMAs show

2013 MTV Video Music Awards - Show

How is Justin Timberlake so good at singing, dancing and all-around handsomeness?

Apparently, he channels the power of the dark side.

Justin’s ‘NSYNC bandmate Chris Kirkpatrick said that Justin’s irritation at Miley Cyrus’ VMAs debacle spurred him to put on a great show of his own. “When we were watching I saw Justin getting a little angry,” Chris told Johnny’s House on Monday. “And when he gets angry, I said ‘Uh-oh. That means we better be on point, because he’s about to go out and kill it now.’”

Chris wasn’t a fan either: “I think sometimes people think you need to go out there and out-weird people. … That’s not what it’s about. The kids want to see you out there doing your song and just being you.”

I think Miley is just being herself. She’s certainly not being anyone else I’ve ever seen.

Miley was nowhere to be seen at her own VMAs afterparty Sunday night.

The reason for her absence was not, as you might expect, that she joined a convent out of utter mortification after her bewildering performance at the awards show. No, actually it sounds like things are looking up for Miley. According to Page Six, she headed straight to the recording studio with none other than Kanye West.
