The Word: Andy Samberg is sick of twerking

Don’t even ask Andy Samberg to twerk, you guys. He is so over it.

Samberg, formerly of “Saturday Night Live” and currently starring in “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” spoke to E! News about Miley Cyrus’ twerking scandal at the VMAs. “I used to be [Miley Cyrus'] twerkologist,” the comedian said. “I’ve severed ties with her in that regard. … I’ve kind of been aware of twerking a lot longer than the mainstream media, quite frankly, and now it’s getting drilled into the dirt. It’s a little bit boring for me.”

I guess that’s probably an occupational hazard — he’s a comedian, so he’s aware of the weird trends in pop culture before the rest of us. So what’s the next big thing, Andy? Arm jiggling? Toaster grinding? Let us get in on the ground floor.

For Miley, pop’s new bad girl might have just gotten the boot for a rumored Vogue cover, but she’s showing the world she can’t be tamed as she gets naked in the music video for her new song “Wrecking Ball.”

Miley worked with controversial fashion photographer Terry Richardson on the video, which premiered on Vevo, and the button-pushing duo don’t disappoint when it comes to shock value.
