The Word: A big weekend for celebrity weddings

Rose McGowan, “30 Rock”‘s Keith Powell, “Mad Men”‘s Ben Feldman, Guns N’ Roses’ Matt Sorum and Jason Wahler of “Laguna Beach” got officially hitched on Saturday (but not to each other), while Pharrell Williams celebrated his recent marriage with a big ol’ Miami party.

McGowan and Powell each wed artists: McGowan to Davey Detail in Los Angeles and Powell to Jill Knox in New York City. Feldman decided to take his celebration to the country with his wedding to Michelle Mulitz on a Maryland farm. “No amount of thunderstorms, police chases, government shutdowns or self immolations could keep us from having the best party of our lives,” he told People. Sorum wed on Saturday in Palm Springs in front of celebrity guests Jane Lynch, Juliette Lewis and Gina Gersho. Wahler, whose claim to fame is that he was Lauren Conrad’s first serious boyfriend, married a model (does it matter what her name is?) on Saturday in — where else? — California.

Oh, and Pharrell Williams had a celebration in honor of his hush-hush August marriage to Helen Lasichanh for friends and family in Miami. According to People, the two were aboard a yacht called “Never Say Never” before exchanging vows at the Kampong National Tropical Botanical Gardens.

Speaking of Wahler, his ex Lauren Conrad became engaged to musician William Tell this weekend — the former Something Corporate guitarist, not the Swiss hero who landed his own overture. Conrad shared the news on her blog over the weekend, along with a pic of her new bling. Why she didn’t want to marry Aaron Burr or another famous figure from history, who knows.
