The Word: Ariana Grande says she can see demons
Sometimes you read an interview with a pop star — a cute, squeaky clean, on-top-of-the-world pop star who has not yet gotten in any bar fights or pierced anything untoward — and you think, “Maybe this kid will do OK. Maybe in five years we won’t be horrified by what the industry has done to them.” But there will be one little thing that gives you a glimpse of a possible less rosy future. They’re not off the rails yet, but the rails are ever-so-slightly shaky.
On a completely unrelated note, Ariana Grande sees demons sometimes.
The up-and-coming pop star was in Kansas City for a show recently. “The next night we wanted to go to Stull Cemetery, which is known as one of the seven gates to hell on Earth. The pope won’t fly over it,” she told Complex.
“I felt this sick, overwhelming feeling of negativity over the whole car and we smelled sulfur, which is the sign of a demon, and there was a fly in the car randomly, which is another sign of a demon. I was like, ‘This is scary, let’s leave.’ I rolled down the window before we left and said, ‘We apologize. We didn’t mean to disrupt your peace.’ Then I took a picture and there are three super distinct faces in the picture — they’re faces of textbook demons.”
Grande says she tried to email the picture, but it couldn’t be sent, because it was 666 megabytes. She’s since deleted it, but that wasn’t her only demonic experience: She also saw a cloud of black matter next to her bed, and says it made her hear whispers when she tried to go to bed.
Get some sleep, Ariana. Call your mom. Next time you see a demon, take a day off. You seem like a sweet girl. I’d really rather not read something in 2017 about how you’re raving down the street talking to demons only you can see.
