Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen celebrate Thanksgiving with hats
Sir Patrick Stewart and Sir Ian McKellen might be incredibly British, noble titles and all, but don’t worry – the two acclaimed stars, who are currently performing two plays on Broadway, totally have this Thanksgiving thing down. They’ve got their beautifully browned turkey. They’ve got their carving knives. They’ve got their fedoras. Most important of all, they’ve each got their best friend by their side, as you can see in the above photo from Patrick Stewart’s Twitter.
Confidential to all Americans: Do not, under any circumstances, tell Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen that hats are not a traditional part of American Thanksgiving. Some heroic citizen of our nation obviously worked very hard to convince them that the Donning of the Fedoras is a key part of our heritage, and that person, that anonymous person who is responsible for this photo of two beaming hatted Brits – that person is what I, personally, am most thankful for.
What’s that? The hats are a reference to their costumes from “Waiting for Godot?” No, I don’t think so. I think it’s the thing I said.
