If anyone has any jokes about a kind-of-annoying actress living out one of my frequent nightmares, please feel free to chime in, because I’ve got nothing on this one except some full-body shudders.

Anne Hathaway, who’s currently vacationing with her husband Adam Shulman in Hawaii, took a dip in the waters off an Oahu beach, where she was pulled out into a rip tide.

The “Batman” star apparently couldn’t return to shore because of the strong tides and powerful waves, according to the Daily Mail. Though she called for help, she couldn’t be heard on shore – her husband continued to relax without noticing her distress.

Luckily (to put it mildly), a nearby surfer did hear her pleas for help. He swam out to the actress with a boogie board and managed to get her back to shore safely. She was able to relax after her ordeal on the beach with her husband, who bandaged her injured feet.

Seriously though, shudder. Can you imagine losing control so close to shore, knowing that no one could see what was happening to you? No one except one photographer, who apparently did nothing but take photo after photo of your ordeal to sell to the Daily Mail. Cool career, bro.
