Granville, OH natives, Black Owls, are playing as part of the CBGB Music Festival in N.Y.C., Thursday, Oct. 10 at The National Underground – Upstairs, owned by Gavin and Joey DeGraw. Describing their sound as “Mott the Hoople meets Guided by Voices,” Black Owls formed in 2007 near Columbus, OH. Inspired by the classic Rock & Roll of The Rolling Stones, the glam swagger of David Bowie and the quirky NYC Art Punk of Television, the band has released several albums and featured a rotating lineup that currently includes Cincinnati musicians Brian Kitzmiller, Brandon Losacker and Sammy Wulfeck.
