Technology that will allow riders to get real-time updates of Green Line trolley locations on their phones has been installed from Lechmere to Haymarket stops, according to the T.

Riders won’t be able to access the data, however, until more hardware is installed.

In the next few weeks, the technology will also be installed at the Kenmore, Hynes, Copley, Arlington and Prudential stops, followed by Park Street, Boylston and Symphony.

Once the hardware is installed, according to the MBTA, location data will be released, which means that riders will be able to use phone apps to see when their train is expected to arrive. There will also be predictions of trolley arrival times being displayed on message boards.
