On Sunday night during the Red Sox – Royals game at Fenway, an idiot wearing a Patriots jersey (donning the No. 69, of course) with the name “Harambe” stitched across the back ran onto the field. He was tackled by security and removed from the park.

Harambe, of course, is the gorilla that was killed at the Cincinnati Zoo three months ago when a child fell into its enclosure.

Harambe’s memory is “living on” in the sports world, as during the PGA Championship – fans in the gallery at Baltusrol Golf Club were routinely shouting out, “Harambe!!!” during golfers’ tee shots. And last week a story went viral regarding a fan dressing up as Harambe at an Illinois high school football game. The guy in the gorilla suit even pretended to drag a child around on the sidelines.

Expect “Harambe!!!” to be the en vogue thing for drunk college kids to scream during “College Gameday” telecasts this fall and during opposing players’ free throws during hoops season.
