Secretary of State John Kerry was said to be in a “good condition” Tuesday after undergoing surgery at Massachusetts General for the leg he broke while cycling in France over the weekend. His orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Dennis Burke, released a statement saying that Kerry was awake throughout the procedure and that the doctor planned to have his patient up and walking as early as today. The procedure was uncomplicated, the fracture was fully repaired, and we plan to get him up walking on Wednesday,” Burke said in a statement.
“I anticipate a short hospitalization.”
