Rajon Rondo nearly proved to be the goat, over 48 hours after an all-time performance Sunday against the Knicks, but the Celtics collectively bailed out their point guard in overtime with a 97-92 win over Houston Tuesday at TD Garden.
Rondo missed a layup in regulation that would have sealed the game for the C’s with the Rockets bouncing back to force overtime.
Kevin Garnett had a double-double with 13 points and 13 boards while Paul Pierce led the way scoring-wise with 30.
Bruins: The B’s downed Toronto, 5-4, Tuesday at Air Canada Centre.
Jordan Caron tallied two goals and an assist while Tyler Seguin chipped in with a pair of his own.
NCAA: Harvard basketball clinched its first-ever outright Ivy League title Tuesday as Princeton beat Penn. The Crimson head to the NCAA tournament for the first time since 1946.
3/5: Bruins goaltender Tuukka Rask will miss four to six weeks of action after being diagnosed with a lower abdomen/groin strain Monday.
Rask went down with the injury in the second period of last Saturday’s loss to the Islanders.
In response, the Bruins signed veteran goaltender Marty Turco last night. Turco played nine seasons with Dallas before playing in Chicago in 2011.
