Stars of the U.S. women’s gymnastics team are pretty much just like regular 16-year-olds

The U.S. women's gymnastic team meets Carmelo Anthony.

Amidst all the excitement over the gold-medal winning U.S. gymnastics team, and the tears, and the “horrific” moments, it’s easy to forget that the amazing girls are, at the end of the day, just that — 16-year-old girls. Who are into Justin Bieber, Kim Kardashian and blowing kisses at the camera.

They get excited by hanging out with Bruce Jenner: Kyla Ross, who’s all of 15, tweeted “Can’t believe we got to meet Bruce Jenner!! I love the Kardashians?”

“We were trying to look tough… Did it work??” Aly Raisman, the oldest at 18, tweeted in another shot.

Jordyn Wieber, 17, put up this image of the quintet blowing kisses at the camera. And yes, that’s the same Jordyn Wieber who told Sports Illustrated she has a crush on Justin Bieber and giggled hysterically over the thought of all the future “Wieber-Bieber-Fever” T-shirts the pair could make if he ever broke up with Selena Gomez.

And we’re sure Wieber was also thrilled today when she discovered the Biebs was following the team. “That amazing moment when @justinbieber follows all of us,” she tweeted.
