No Pats, no problem: How to get your NFL fix this weekend

Davone Bess and the Dolphins have been one of the surprises in the AFC East.

With the Patriots off this weekend, fans in the area will still be looking to get their football fix. Here are a few matchups to watch:

Miami Dolphins at Indianapolis Colts, 1:00 p.m.
The Patriots will face both of these teams in the next four weeks so it will give fans a firsthand look at their next opponents. Both teams enter the game with 4-3 records with the Dolphins sitting in second place behind the Patriots in the AFC East.

This could be a showdown of rookie quarterbacks in the Colts’ Andrew Luck and the Dolphins’ Ryan Tannehill but Tannehill suffered a left knee injury in last week’s game and backup Matt Moore came in and led Miami to a 30-9 win over the Jets. Tannehill did practice this week, but his status remains up in the air.

Buffalo Bills at Houston Texans, 1:00 p.m.
This game also provides a chance for Patriots fans to see two of their opponents during the second half of the season. Houston has proven itself as one of, if not the best team in the AFC while it is unclear whether or not Buffalo is a contender or a pretender.

Houston comes in with a 6-1 record while Buffalo is 3-4 with three of their losses by 20-plus points. The AFC’s road to the Super Bowl could very well go through Houston this year.

Pittsburgh Steelers at New York Giants, 4:25 p.m.
Two Super Bowl winning quarterbacks in Eli Manning and Ben Roethlisberger will face off at the Meadowlands Sunday afternoon in an inter-conference battle.

Pittsburgh comes in at 4-3 coming off of a 27-12 win over the Redskins last week while the Giants are 6-2 and considered one of the best teams in the NFL. New York squeaked past the Cowboys, 29-24, last week after blowing a 23-0 lead.

Dallas Cowboys at Atlanta Falcons, 8:20 p.m.
The only undefeated team in the league will be featured in primetime Sunday night when the Falcons host the Cowboys. Dallas is coming off of a devastating 29-24 loss to the Giants, while Atlanta defeated the Eagles 30-17.

Atlanta is running away with the NFC South as Tampa Bay is the second place team with just a 3-4 record.
