Celtics win 6th straight, beat Charlotte 100-89
Just a few short weeks ago, the Celtics would have slept-walked through a game against the likes of the Charlotte Bobcats. But things just haven’t looked the same (in a good way) in the past 10 days or so. Whether it was the DeMarcus Cousins trade rumors from two Sundays ago or the Carmelo-Garnett spew-fest from eight days ago, something has awakened this Celtics team.
The Celtics ran their win streak to six games Monday night, courtesy of a 100-89 victory over the aforementioned ’Cats.
Right out of the gate Monday night, the C’s were aggressive as they opened the game with an 11-2 lead. Avery Bradley scored a season-high 16 points, which included the first basket of a game when he slid baseline and threw down an easy dunk. Bradley would go on to drain four 3-pointers in the contest.
Charlotte would make a run in the third quarter, as it outscored Boston, 25-20, in the frame but the C’s ultimately held off the Bobcats’ run.
Rajon Rondo would finish with one of his more complete performances of the season with a triple-double (17 points, 12 assists, 10 rebounds). The Celtics are now 20-17 on the season.
