Playing the Field: LeBron bombs at karaoke, News reporter thinks Bill Russell is Morgan Freeman

Broken glass, everywhere.

Just when you want to start liking LeBron James, he goes and does something like this. No, there’s nothing wrong with singing karaoke. But there is something wholly wrong when you can’t sing a song and no one let’s you know about it.

In this clip below, LeBron should have been booed worse than he was the first time he returned to Cleveland following The Decision. He was that bad. Absolutely butchered Michael Jackson and Shai … you sure as hell don’t disrespect Shai like that.

This just goes to show that even after winning a title, LeBron still lives in his bubble of yes-men. A real friend boos the crap out of you when you start bombing on stage like that.

The low points of this video include LeBron quitting worse than he did in the 2010 playoffs midway through “Rock with you” and Dwyane Wade bringing nothing to the table in terms of comedic value.

“That’s Morgan Freeman, I think”

It’s Super Bowl time, which means we’re in for the traditional two weeks of news reporters flubbing the names of sports stars. Things started early during yesterday’s Presidential Inauguration when ABC’s George Stephanopoulos confused a 7-foot tall man with great seats wearing a Boston Celtics hat, Bill Russell, with actor Morgan Freeman.

I’m sure that must have felt great for the 78-year-old Russell, who spent much of his life as an advocate for civil rights and furthering the cause for African-Americans in addition to becoming the greatest winner the sports world has ever seen. I’m sure Monday wasn’t one of the top 10 days of his life or anything, seeing Obama sworn in live and in person.
