Playing the Field: Ravens cheerleader benched for gaining 2 lbs., Te’o hoax mastermind is ‘gay’ and ‘confused’

Courtney's the one on the left. A real bow-wow.

A Baltimore Ravens cheerleader, Courtney Lenz, is not heading to New Orleans this week for the Super Bowl.

The five-year veteran who has been cheering with the Ravens since she was 18 is retiring after this season and that’s the main reason the franchise is making her stay home … cause, ya know, apparently that’s a no-no in the cheering world. But there may be more to the story. Lenz’ friend says that because Lenz put on two pounds during the season, the team “benched” her.

“Courtney announced she was retiring during the last home game at the end of the season  which didn’t go well with the director(of the Ravens cheering program),” An online petition to get Lenz to New Orleans reads. “She was told she didn’t put in as many appearance hours this season as she did the past four years while in college. This season she earned her B.S. degree and got a full time job… Bad call. They also stated she struggled with weight on occasion and she had been benched for a two-pound weight gain during a game earlier in the fall, which is absurd, unhealthy and a complete inaccurate measurement of a woman’s ‘appearance’ and size!”

Here is a link to the petition.

Tuiasosopo sits down with Dr. Phil

Ronaiah Tuiasosopo, the man who says he is behind the Manti Te’o hoax, is “gay” and/or “confused,” according to Dr. Phil McGraw.

Dr. Phil appeared on NBC’s Today Wednesday morning to promote his interview with Tuiasosopo, which will air Thursday.

“Here we have a young man that fell deeply, romantically in love,” Dr. Phil told Today. “I asked him straight up, ‘Was this a romantic relationship with you?’ And he says yes. I said, ‘Are you then therefore gay?’ And he said, ‘When you put it that way, yes.’ And then he caught himself and said, ‘I am confused.’”

“After everything I’ve been through, I’ve got to just move on with my life,” Tuiasosopo said when questioned about why he “killed” the fictional “Lennay Kekua.

“There were many times when Manti and Lennay were broken up,” Tuiasosopo told Dr. Phil, as if describing a soap opera he had written. “But there was something that always brought them back together.”

After two weeks of this madness, it seems everyone is finally coming to grips with the idea that one twisted person (Ronaiah Tuiasosopo) could be behind one of the more elaborate schemes we’ve ever seen. Just one more question: did Dr. Phil ask Tuiasosopo to do “the voice?”

We’ll find out Thursday as to whether or not it was asked, but I’m guessing probably not. The debut of “the voice” will undoubtedly come on NBC’s The Voice which premiers March 25. After all, this is how this whole thing started, isn’t it? With Tuiasosopo wanting to be famous and to appear on that particular show?
