Dating: Does penis size actually matter?

Relationship sex doesn't have to be boring.
The ultimate question: Does size matter?

A recent study revealed that the average length of an American man’s erect penis is 5.6 inches. Oh, penis size. Men and women alike can’t get enough of figuring out whether or not guys measure up. But why whip out the rulers and care so much about length? Isn’t girth where it’s at anyway? To get to the bottom of the size debate, I spoke with Claire Cavanah, a co-founder of the Babeland chain of erotic shops. Who better to assess the value of a rod than a curator of sex toys?

What matters more, girth or length?
Neither matters at all. It’s not the size or length of the boat, it’s how you rock it.

OK then, any specific advice to guys about how to rock their boat?
It really depends on the woman and what kind of stimulation she likes, but doggy style is a great position for G-spot stimulation and also a position where a guy can reach her clitoris. A woman’s body also has many erogenous zones, including the breasts, neck and ears.

What can a 7-inch-long penis do that a 5-inch one can’t?
Show up differently on a tape measure.

Is there such a thing as being too long?
In essence, no, but some partners might experience discomfort. There are ways to deal with this, though. Making sure that the partner is sufficiently aroused, using lube and experimenting with different positions can help.

So if penis size really doesn’t matter that much, what else goes into pleasing a woman?
Being an attentive lover goes a long way. Orgasms are the release of sexual tension, so the longer you take to build that tension, the greater the release. Ask her what she likes, give her time to respond, and let the pleasure come from touching and not from a rush to give her an orgasm.

Basically, penis length is more about men having something to compare and compete over rather than what actually makes a woman happy. So guys, if you really want to be good in bed, stop staring at your parts and concentrate on hers.
