Redfin ranks Top 25 Cities for successful single women
Ah, the plight of the educated, self-sufficient single girl. She’s successful, she’s upwardly mobile and yet she just can’t seem to meet anyone. Perhaps it’s where she’s chosen to live? We can all agree that a small town or quiet suburb aren’t exactly hotbeds of single mingling but, as it turns out, neither are some metropolitan cities.
Online real estate brokerage company Redfin has compiled a list of the top 25 cities for educated single women — whether they’re happy focusing on their career and selves or are looking to complement their self-earned lifestyle with that someone special — and the results might surprise you. Topping the charts at number one is Arlington, VA, a small city just outside of D.C. that boasts high rates of college graduates and high income.
Virginia, apparently, is a hot place for single women — Alexandria comes in at number two. Rounding out the top five are Cambridge, MA (due to the high concentration of fine universities in the area), D.C. and San Francisco.
Also on the diverse list — Atlanta, Oakland, Boston, Ann Arbor, Charleston and Jersey City. Visit blog.redfin.com to see the full rankings and to see how your favorite cities measure up.
