3 decor lines to watch

1. Pretty plates: We’re loving Mateus, a fantastical and colorful ceramics company from Sweden that hit Bloomingdale’s shelves in September and is now being distributed to boutiques across the country. “Twenty years ago there wasn’t any color on the table,” explains designer and CEO Teresa Lundahl about the company’s start. “I’m from Portugal and I had married a Swedish man and didn’t have a job.” So the former model decided to combine fashion colors she’d seen on Paris and New York runways with the traditional ceramics from her homeland for a whimsical tabletop collection. Now, her one-of-a-kind pieces, which are handcrafted in Portugal,  are sold worldwide. They’re perfect as wedding or housewarming gifts, or just to liven up your boring leftovers.

2. Zara invades your home: Zara is our beloved go-to for fashion-forward pieces perfect for nights out, job interviews, and just about anytime you want your clothes to lie about your paycheck — and now the brand has expanded its awesome repertoire. Last week marked the debut of www.zara
home.com, which features home decor that’ll make your apartment just as chic as your wardrobe.

3. Dansk Kobenstyle returns: Kobenstyle, the iconic Scandinavian enameled cookware designed by Jens Quistgaard in 1956, is back. You’ve drooled over its high-gloss colors, cool sculptural handles and inventive lids that double as trivets in vintage stores, and now you can buy them brand new. Crate and Barrel is carrying the stylish line.
